Questions we’re often asked
Here are straight answers to the questions we hear most from homeowners, tenants, landlords and businesses across the Latrobe Valley. If yours isn’t here, ask it in the quote form.
Which areas do you cover?
Traralgon, Morwell, Moe, Newborough, Churchill, Yallourn North, Glengarry, Tyers, Traralgon South and Hazelwood North. If you’re nearby, ask us.
How do I get a quote?
Send your list through the free quote form, with one line per job and photos if possible. We’ll reply by email with an itemised quote.
Why don’t you list prices on the website?
Every job is different. An itemised quote based on your actual list is more accurate than a price list.
Is there a minimum job size?
We take on small jobs, but it’s best to group several into one visit so you get the most out of it.
Do you do electrical work?
No. Electrical work must be done by a licensed electrician. We can mount TVs and fit fixtures that don’t need wiring.
Do you do plumbing?
No. Plumbing and gas work need licensed plumbers and gasfitters. We can fit accessories like towel rails and toilet roll holders and renew silicone.
What about asbestos?
Many Valley homes built before the late 1980s contain asbestos in eaves, wet areas, sheds and some linings. We don’t cut, drill or sand suspected materials, and removal needs a licensed removalist.
Can you do my whole list in one visit?
Usually, yes. We plan the visit around your list and bring the materials needed.
Do I need to be home?
Not always. Many clients arrange access and we send photos of the finished work.
Do you work on rental properties?
Yes, for property managers, landlords and tenants, with dated photos of every job.
Can you help with end-of-lease repairs?
Yes. We patch walls, touch up paint, fix doors and flyscreens, reseal wet areas and remove hooks.
Do you fit grab rails?
Yes, fixed into studs, noggins or masonry, in bathrooms, toilets and on steps.
Can you mount my TV?
Yes, on brackets fixed into studs or masonry. New power points or in-wall cabling need an electrician.
Do you clean gutters?
Yes, on single-storey homes and sheds where access is safe.
Do you repair fences?
Yes. We replace palings, rails and posts, and rehang and re-latch gates. Long rural boundary fencing is better suited to a fencing contractor.
Can you help prepare for fire season?
Yes, with gutters, ember mesh, door seals, clearing under decks and moving combustibles away from the house.
My walls keep cracking. Can you fix them?
Most cracks from seasonal soil movement are cosmetic and can be repaired. Wide or growing cracks should be checked by a building inspector first.
Do you assemble flat pack furniture?
Yes, and we anchor tall furniture to the wall for safety.
Do you paint?
We do patch-and-paint, touch-ups, doors, trims and small rooms. Whole-house repaints are better suited to a painter.
Do you do tiling?
We replace cracked tiles, regrout and do small tiling jobs. Full bathroom renovations need a renovation company.
Do you take rubbish away?
We take away rubbish from our work and small loads that fit in our vehicle.
Do you work for businesses?
Yes, including shops, offices, clinics and community buildings, often outside trading hours.
Can my family arrange work for me?
Yes. Family members can contact us by email, and we’ll send them photos when the work is done.
Do you work in rural areas?
Yes, including Glengarry, Tyers, Hazelwood North and Traralgon South. Tell us about access, gates and animals.
What if you find another problem during the job?
We stop, show you and explain your options before doing anything extra.
Are your photos of your own work?
No. Photos on this site are illustrative stock images.
